Get ready for hiking, rock climbing, swimming, boating, fishing, golfing, bicycle riding, tennis, hang gliding, antique hunting, wine tasting, museums, and Subiaco Academy which are all nearby. We are much more reasonable than the Mt. Magazine cabins or the Petit Jean Mountain cabins and have less restrictions. The Ranch Cabin is a luxury cabin nestled at the base of Mount Magazine, the highest point between the Rockies and the Alleghenies. The cabin is private and isolated and has a gorgeous view of Mount Magazine from the fully furnished deck and the covered porch. The little house is fully furnished with a hide-a-bed couch in the living room and a recliner for him (or her) Outside on the deck, a fantastic night sky will greet you with stars so stupendous on clear cloudless nights it will literally take your breath away. And August is especially great with visible meteor showers. Grab a quilt and a pillow and spend half of the night outside. You can nap in the hammocks during the day underneath the trees, or roam in the woods, build a fire in the rock garden in the woods and enjoy a good old fashioned cook out with hot dogs, marshmallows, and more. Plenty of wood provided. You just have to gather it. If you get tired of being outside we have supplied the cottage with Dish TV, many, many games, books, and many videos for you to enjoy. Nearby is great hiking and swimming and magnificent Mount Magazine, one of the jewels in the crown of the Arkansas Parks System. You will experience fantastic photo ops, hang gliding, hiking, and a visitor center at the summit. On the way up, stop at pristine Cove Lake for a great swim. Enjoy also award winning dining nearby, wineries, and museums, float the Mulberry just 40 miles north, and travel an easy drive north to Eureka Springs, South to Hot Springs, or East to Little Rock. At Jack Creek and Knoppers Ford recreation areas you may even catch a glimpse of a shy black bear as you swim, picnic, hike, and enjoy the bluffs. Deer and coyote, owls and other wildlife are regular visitors at the cottage. And the whippoorwills will serenade you to sleep in the spring and summer months. A clean, beautiful four bedroom, 3 bath vacation home, about half way up Magazine Mountain in the beautiful Ozark Mountains, just minutes from Magazine Mountain State Park. The recently renovated ranch house sits on approximately 7 acres of land and is very close to the many hiking trails in the State Park, as well as nearby Cove Lake Recreational Area, where guests can swim, hike, boat and fish. For those guests interested in trail riding, the house is less than 1/4 mile from Spring Lake Rd (which provides access to the Huckleberry Mountain Horse and ATV trail system) and Green Bench Rd (which provides access to miles and miles of Forest Service fire roads and trails). Side by Sides and ATVs can be ridden from Myra's Mountain Retreat to these two roads - no need to trailer! Check out photos for overhead pics and trail maps showing our location. The entire inside of Myra's Mountain Retreat has been repainted and the floors replaced with luxury vinyl plank flooring. The kitchen has been extensively refurbished in 2019 with all new appliances, painted cabinets, new quartz countertops and new light fixtures. The spacious den/family room has been outfitted with a new sofa (both end seats recline) and a new love seat/theater seat that both reclines and rocks. The sofa and love seat sit on a beautiful new rug. The family room/den also includes a new 6 seat dining table. The house has four bedrooms, all with new mattresses. There are three bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs. All upstairs bedrooms include ceiling fans. There are two full bathrooms upstairs and one full bathroom downstairs. All bathrooms have new light and plumbing fixtures. Downstairs also has a separate sitting/reading area. We've decorated the house with pictures and mementos representative of the Arkansas/Mount Magazine area. In terms of amenities, Myra's Mountain Retreat includes 3 TVs (via over-the-air HD antenna) - one in the den/family room, one in the Master Bedroom, one in basement, wireless internet access and has a mobile phone signal booster for Verizon, which provides very good 4G LTE signal. Be aware other carriers' signal reception may be spotty at best. The house also includes Sony Blu-ray players in the den and in the basement (~ 50 mostly family friendly blu-ray and DVD movies in cabinet) , and some games (e.g., Jenga, Yahtzee, Scrabble). Outside, is a deck in the rear and a new Weber gas grill for cooking out with full spare propane tank. We've installed a new dual-fuel Trane heating/air system. In the event of a loss of power, the furnace runs off of propane and is tied into the 8 kW stand-by generator so there will always be heat. The house includes a full laundry room in the basement, including iron and ironing board. Detergent and dryer sheets are included.

A quite getaway between Mount Magazine State Park and Cove Lake Recreation Area. 6 miles from Mt. Magazine and 2.5 miles from Cove Lake. The cabin also has RV/camper electric and water hook ups which is provided with the cabin for no extra charge. The cabin is 10 miles from the city of Paris. Just up the road from the cabin is a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I highly recommend it.

Antique hunting, museums and wineries are also minutes away. If you are a canoeing or Kayaking enthusiast you may want to take the breathtaking drive to float the Mulberry or Buffalo Rivers. Knoppers Ford and Jack Creek in the Ouachita Mountains are also beautiful places to picnic, swim and enjoy wildlife watching. The “Subi House” is a lovely, spacious 3000 sq. ft. house located in Subiaco, Arkansas. The house is fully furnished with enough room to bring the entire family, or more! There are 2 master bedrooms, each one with a king size bed and an adjacent full bath. The 3rd bedroom has a queen size bed and the 4th bedroom is furnished with two sets of twin size bunk beds. The 3rd full bath is the common area bathroom. The house has beds for 10 and will sleep up to 14 comfortably with the two queen size air mattresses. It has 2 living areas, a formal dining room, which connects to a very spacious kitchen and a game room. There are 5 HD TVs, wireless internet, a pool table, a piano, an electronic dartboard and an Xbox 360 for your enjoyment. The laundry room is equipped with a washer and dryer. Marie's house, built in 1941, was completely renovated in 2020 and sits on 3 acres. The kitchen has beautiful new cabinets and new appliances. Luxury vinyl planks cover the floors throughout the house. The dining area includes a large dining table with 6 chairs. Each bedroom has their own private bath with tub and shower. Plus there is a powder room for guests not staying the night. The full laundry is located off the kitchen and has an ironing board and iron. Our charming 5,000 square foot country home is a beautiful 2 story brick home with 5 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, full kitchen, dining room, laundry room, and game room. It was built on 460 acres which is surrounded by Ouachita National Forest the Fourche LaFave River which borders the property for over a mile giving unbelievable access to the river. Weaver creek runs along the West side of the house. This is the right place for you if you want to be immersed in nature and privacy. Bring your horses, side by side’s and ATVs for a fun filled stay. While hiking, riding, and exploring the property, you never know what you may find including fossils and arrowheads. During hunting season, you have private access to all 460 acres plus the Ouachita National Forest that surrounds the property. The property is on the border of Scott and Yell counties which has a total of over 500,000 acres of national forest. It’s great for families or a group of friends. Our home is calm, cozy and clean. Our kitchen has the basics with gas stove, oven, microwave, coffee machine, pots, pans, dishes, and silverware. We do provide essential toiletries and food staples such as salt, pepper, sugar, and flour. We are 30 miles from the grocery so plan accordingly. Three of the bedrooms have King beds, a couch, and TV with cable. One bedroom has a full-size bed and the other a queen size bed. We have high speed internet. We have a barn available if you would like to bring your horses along for a great adventure. We also have a dog pen on the property if you’re coming for the great hunting and want to bring your hunting dogs along. You have access to Weaver Creek and the Fourche LaFave River, depending on the time you visit the trails may be more grown the others, please dress accordingly. You will drive across approximately 4 miles of dirt road to get to the property.

C-Bar-C Ranch is located 13 miles SW of Bonneville, Arkansas off Hwy 23. The ranch has 280 acres of wooded land that is fenced and cross-fenced for cattle operations. This home is located at the top of the ridge looking south toward Pilot mountain. This vacation home is perfect for escaping the rat-race of the city and resetting your fun-meter. You can roam the property on foot around the ranch and reconnect with nature. Be mindful of the wild animals in the forest and remember you are the visitor. There are four large ponds stocked with bass, perch and catfish. The house is two story, three bedroom, two bath country home. Two bedrooms and one bath upstairs and master bedroom/bath downstairs. Washer and dryer available. There is a very large sun-room on the back side of the house. The home is furnished but not lavishly. Please understand that this is our vacation home. We live in the house during our annual vacations and not renting it out. Everything is on the honor system. If you see something you like, please ask. We are generous people but at the same time many items in the house hold sentimental value. We are in the process of making the home as comfortable and luxurious as possible but that will take time. Come to relax and enjoy the peace, solitude and nature that comes with this location. Additionally, the last 100 yards of road leading up to the house has washed out and we are waiting for repairs. Please drive slowly and enjoy the view as you slug up the road. The refrigerator may have food and or beer/wine. Plan on buying food and water in town before coming up. We are health nuts and any food we leave will be absolutely healthy. We drink distilled water as the city water has additives such as chlorine and fluoride that we deem unhealthy. Pets are welcome but please be considerate. We do not enjoy cleaning up after other peoples pets especially in our own home. Supervise your pets when they are outside as coyotes, foxes and lynx will gladly make a meal of your little pets. In the early morning hours, expect to see deer and turkey. In the afternoon hours you may see lynx and eagles. During the evening hours you may see bears. At night, you will hear/see coyotes, owls, bats and cats.

Creekside Cottage Information:  Located just outside of the Shoal Bay Recreation Area gate in New Blaine, AR sits this tiny cottage. If you like to fish and enjoy all of the amenities that Shoal Bay has to offer but do not have an RV, this is the place for you. (Please note that the Recreation Area is only fully open March through September. If you come in the off season you can still enter to fish and hike, but the restrooms and swimming area will be closed). The tiny cottage is perfect for couples but can sleep four if the futon is used. This is not a 5 Star Hotel. It’s a cozy, comfortable, and conveniently located cottage that won’t break your budget. Creekside Cottage is a total of 400 square feet but offers a sitting area and kitchenette with coffee pot, microwave, small crock pot and mini fridge. (A larger fridge is located under the picnic pavilion.) There is a TV with DVD player and a selection of movies. Sorry, but no other TV service or WiFi is available at this time. A separate bedroom features a queen size bed with a comfortable 12" memory foam mattress. The rustic decor bathroom includes a large shower. Linens and dishes are provided.  Temperature is controlled by a window unit and ceiling fan. A heater is also available for those of you that are cold natured. Not only are you within walking distance of the Recreation Area. Which offers swimming, hiking, fishing, and a playground, the Creekside Cottage property has several great things to offer. A separate two car carport (approximately 200 feet from cottage) is available to park your vehicle or boat as well as a picnic pavilion sitting alongside the small wet weather creek that crosses the property. The charcoal grill, and fire pit add to your outdoor experience.   Local Information:  Shoal Bay Bait and Tackle is located next door to the property. Along with bait, they also have cold drinks and rent kayaks. There is a large Dollar General, a convenience store and a restaurant located within approximately two miles of the cottage.  Menus are provided for your convenience.  Area Information: New Blaine is half way between Paris, AR (The Gateway to Arkansas' highest point, Mt. Magazine) and Dardanelle, AR  (Home of Beautiful Mt. Nebo).  See these two mountains and take a 45 minute drive to Petit Jean State Park to complete your Tri-Peaks Tour.  Spring Lake Recreation Area and the Huckleberry Mountain ATV and Horse Trail System, are both located in the nearby Ozark National Forest.  Stop in Subiaco on your way to Paris and tour the beautiful Catholic Monastery - Subiaco Abbey.  In Paris, you will find Eiffel Tower Park, a nice place to add your Love Lock to the fence and take pictures at the tower fountain.  Also located in Paris is the Cowie Wine Cellar and Museum, part of the Arkansas Wine Trail.  One hour away is historic Ft. Smith, Arkansas where you can ride the trolley and visit the Ft. Smith Museum of History as well as the Ft. Shoal Bay cottage will carry you away from the chaos of daily living and you will feel like you have stepped into another world. The peace and tranquility in this secluded setting is all about relaxation! The sound of the wind blowing through the pines and the aroma of the wooded areas and folliage adds to the Cottage experience. My favorite is early morning coffee on front porch with porch swing and two chairs with table. You will hear a rooster crowing and it is not uncommon to see a curious deer walk by. Springtime brings bursts of color and flowering dogwoods! Fall has breathtaking color perfect weather. Road to cottage is paved except for approx. 2 city blocks of dirt/gravel road. Cottage is only 2 miles from Hwy 22. My country directions - when you see entrance to Shoal Bay Park (you can see the lake at this point) turn right on Bayview Drive, go one block turn right, still Bayview Drive, go around the curve, up the hill and it is the 3rd place on the left! 363 beside front door. No mailbox. The master bedroom has a king size bed with lamps on both sides and TV/VCR, dish/DVR. The middle bedroom has a queen bed (pillow top mattress) with beautiful antique dresser and ceiling fan, reading lamp. The sun room across back of house has double iron bed and single iron bed with recliner and chair facing the back yard. Most likely every day you will see deer in the back yard. Windows surround this room with breathtaking view of back yard with tall pines, several kinds of birds, squirrel, deer and other wildlife can be observed at various times! The cabin is on Dublin Bay and across from the Dublin Bay recreation area and also close to the Shoal Bay recreation area. Boats can be loaded/unloaded at either and you can leave your boat trailer there or bring it to the cabin. Location is great for water sports, duck hunting, and fishing tournaments. The lake is only 100 feet from the cabin and we have a dock so that you can have your boat close by. The cabin has two main rooms and a bathroom. The first room has a full kitchen, dining area, living room, laundry, and one full size bed. The second room was added on in 2014 and has a great view of the lake. It has two queen murphy beds, a recliner, and a futon. A sliding glass door leads to the deck where you can relax and enjoy the view. We also have a rock patio area with a fire pit that is perfect for gathering at the end of the day.

AUTHENTIC LOG CABIN: This cabin in located in Dublin, AR, 6.4 miles East of Scranton (15036 East State Hwy 197, Scranton, AR 72863), and adjoins Dublin Park/City Park, which is 2/10 mile (approx. 300 yards) from the cabin, where there is a boat dock and parking for your trucks and boat trailers while you fish. Ample parking for 3-4 trucks and trailers is also available at the cabin. Dublin Park/City Park is on Lake Dardanelle and has excellent fishing, skiing, and tubing. DRIVING DIRECTIONS: When you get to SCRANTON, go EAST on HWY 197 for 6.4 miles. The address is 15036 E State Hwy 197, Scranton, AR 72863. At the entrance to the cabin (right-hand side of the road), you will see an ARKANSAS RAZORBACK rock sign that says "THE SNOW's". (If you get to Dublin Park, you've gone just a little bit too far. Turn around and go back to the first drive you come to.) THE CABIN was built in 2004 by Bobby Snow (Owner), and has a wonderful cedar smell. It is 500 sq ft on the main floor and 250 sq ft in the loft. There is a queen size bed and an additional queen size mattress on the floor in the loft, so the loft will sleep 4 people. Two people can sleep on the sleeper sofa. There is also a blow-up double mattress and a blow-up twin mattress that can be used if you would prefer that instead of the sofa. Sheets and pillows are provided. A small balcony is upstairs outside the loft door. CABIN has a flat-screen television, DISH Satellite, and a DVD player. No internet or WIFI. Good cell phone reception for AT&T phones. (We recently put in a cell phone booster thinking it would help ALL cell phone reception; however, it does not help TMobile because there is no signal for it to boost. You can go back up to highway (about 100 yards) or about 1/2 mile down the road to get reception.) Floors are made of flagstone. There is a spiral staircase going up to the loft. KITCHEN is fully equipped with stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, dishes, pots and pans, dish towels, dishwashing liquid, plastic wrap, aluminum foil, salt and pepper, etc. Please DO NOT pour grease down the drain; you can dump it outside in the trees. No washer, dryer, or dishwasher is available. You are responsible for your food and drinks. If you don't want to cook, there is a great little restaurant about 8 miles away called Porky's. There's also great hamburgers, salads, and daily specials at the 4-Way (gas station) in Scranton. They also have LIVE BAIT for your fishing. OUTSIDE there is a pavilion that includes a gas grill and a picnic table. A fire pit is next to the pavilion for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. Front porch includes a cedar rocker swing. Also, there are two hammocks that can be hung between the trees, and one chair hammock that can be hung on the porch. BATHROOM has a shower (no tub), toilet, bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, hair dryer, etc. We prefer NO PETS inside our cabin. Other guests may be allergic to animals. AT THE END OF YOUR STAY... Put all the dirty sheets, towels, etc. in the bathroom. Clean up the kitchen and put the dishes away. Take all left-over food with you or feel free to feed the animals. We will take care of the trash. Please don't put it outside on the porch. Neighbor's dogs will get into it and will spread it all over. Make sure heat/air is turned off, lights are off, and fans (including ceiling fans) are off.

We live on 140 acres in a more rural setting with large, oak trees surrounding the back side of the house, an older traditional barn, and plenty of nature surrounding us! We have a back patio with chairs, a table, and a BBQ that we would love for you to use! *We provide propane. During the summer months the fire pit outside is a great place to make s'mores and gaze and the night sky! In the Fall and Winter months the fireplace inside makes for a cozy evening setting! They are able to roam around the home, however the larger animals (horses and cattle) will not be able to approach you unless you cross through the steel pipe fencing. *All of our animals are friendly. The only thing we ask is that the animals are never chased, mishandled, or treated improperly. This can stress them out. If you respect them, they will respect you! We will provide treats for all of the animals so that you can feed them and interact with them if you’d like. *This should go without saying, but there are livestock droppings around. Farm life, right? *If you would like to join us while we feed the animals to learn more about them, please let us know and we will arrange feeding times around your schedule. *We do allow pets, but please let us know before arrival if you’ll be bringing a pet so we are aware since we have dogs as well. All have biking and hiking trails. We are also six miles from several golf courses. Chamberlain west toward Danville Lake Dardanelle also has great fishing spots. Delaware Bay, Spring Lake, Blue Mt. Lake just to name a few. Hollow Bend Wildlife Reserve is a great place to bird watch and if your lucky a deer or bald eagle might pop up. Maybe ten miles away. Back deck with great view of Mt Nebo for relaxing or grilling. Newly installed fire pit just off back deck. Sunsets and sunrise are most usually breathtaking !!!

Altus is the heart of Arkansas wine country with 5 wineries (plus one 20 minutes away) and some neat little festivals. Our home is walking distance to downtown Altus Park, Kelts, Post Winery and The Trellis Room. It is a few miles from other local wineries. There is a nice view of St. Mary's Catholic Church (on Historic Registry)from our backyard and it is 2 miles away. You can drive 30 minutes to get to Mulberry Mountain and Turner Bend and another 15 minutes to get to Byrds.

Greenwood also has a paved trail that wanders through back areas of town and natural tree habitats. Greenwood also has a wonderful antique store, and some sweet downtown local shopping. We also have chickens, and like to provide our guests with fresh eggs for your stay. You can wander out to the pond and feed the catfish & fish and catch them. :) additional notes: we are about a 20 min drive from Fort Smith it has a lot of your bigger shopping & chain restraunts. We are also on well water, which is clean and drinkable. It does have a bit of a off smell to it but overall much cleaner, purer & better than Greenwood water. Also- please stay off bridges at this moment until we replace some of the wood. Thanks!

We also have a theatre room for enjoyment that has two couches, single bed and 2 Murphy Beds and 2 toddler beds set up if you need or want those for younger kids to sleep. We have a air mattress available and lots of extra pillows and blankets for comfort available for your use. There is plenty of space for just about any size group. Several fire pits around for cozy comfort or roasting marshmallows. A quick drive down the driveway will take you to a local “secret” Lake Dardanelle fishing spot. This is our primary home and we stay in our garage apartment while guests are in residence. We are available for tours and to answer any questions. This is our home and farm so we will be around but when booking the entire home you will have it all to yourself. We made the decision to open our home up to meet and welcome people and share our little private escape from the busy city life. Parking-our property is very large and you could park a jumbo jet if needed. You will have no issues parking RV’s if you are on a stop through, trucks with boats and trailers, and a number of vehicles. We have covered parking for motorcycles and vehicles if you request. Guest access Guests will have full private access to home including master, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, kitchen, dining, laundry, play area and media room. Main patios off the house will be private as well as fire pits. The land with farm animals and our son and his family live on the other home on the property so you may see any of us coming and going and tending to the land and animals. Other things to note Pets-we have several farm animals that stay in their fencing. We have three outdoor cats who enjoys a pet. The other home on the property is owned by my son; his wife and daughters have a big fur family! Dogs are out a various times of the day for restroom breaks, all are friendly and would enjoy being pet or played with. Because we are in the woods and there are a variety of wild animals, we do not allow pets as they would be unfamiliar with the surroundings and it might pose a danger to them; however we know people travel with their pets, so we have some great inexpensive options for boarding close to town that we can help you book for your pet. Please let us know if you are uncomfortable with pets and we will do our best to keep the pets in their home during your stay. If you have children who would like an introduction to the pets let us know. If there are places on the property you would like to explore, please let me know and I can let you know where we have animals and what you'll need when you look around. I have replaced what was once paneling and dark woodwork to bring the light and airiness my mother always wished for. There are many childhood relics, including vintage Sports Illustrated magazines, comic books, 45 rpm records, Valentines from my father's elementary school years, and even a Pig Extractor from my grandparents' farm. My endearing chickens live nearby, and you'll get to sample their eggs!
